Where TeslaFi is better
- Years of accumulated features: drive tagging, a calendar view and full weather conditions logged per drive (we log the car's own temperature reading, not the forecast).
- Vehicle commands and scheduling — it can act on your car, not just observe it. evlogr is deliberately read-only.
- A large, long-running community and a track record going back to 2016. We launched this year.
Where evlogr is better
- Cheaper, with a free tier that doesn't expire — try it properly before paying anything.
- Your data stays in the EU, which matters if GDPR is more than an abstraction to you.
- Genuinely accurate charging costs: if you're on a time-of-use tariff, we weight each charge across the periods it actually spanned instead of applying one flat rate.
- Road trips stay private: TeslaFi's shared trip pages are public URLs that expose full street addresses and saved place names. evlogr's trips are visible to you alone.
- A modern, fast interface — the difference is obvious within a minute of using both.
Moving your history across
Export your drives and charges as CSV from TeslaFi, then use evlogr's importer. Your history comes across and sits alongside everything we log from then on.
That’s the part most people worry about, so it’s the part we built first — the importer reads a CSV export, shows you exactly what it will bring in, and never duplicates rows if you run it twice.
